- Meal Times – Meals should be scheduled to avoid throwing the body into digestive problems. Almost all children prefer a routine. Allowing children to eat at specific times only can help prevent overeating. Having small frequent meals is better than eating large portions at once because the digestive system can convert small amounts of food into energy a lot faster than larger portions. Frequent meals make digestion a lot easier and can be factor in helping children lose weight.
